{"id":49,"date":"2009-02-06T15:45:19","date_gmt":"2009-02-06T15:45:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/dagfooyo.com\/blog\/?p=49"},"modified":"2009-02-06T17:33:42","modified_gmt":"2009-02-06T17:33:42","slug":"49","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/dagfooyo.com\/blog\/?p=49","title":{"rendered":"Tate Modern, London"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Today I finally made it into London proper, saw the Thames and went to Tate Modern to check out some art.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"youtube\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" class=\"youtube-player\" type=\"text\/html\" width=\"425\" height=\"344\" src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/iT-2KOX7HEQ?wmode=transparent&amp;fs=1&amp;hl=en&amp;modestbranding=1&amp;iv_load_policy=3&amp;showsearch=0&amp;rel=1&amp;theme=dark\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Of the ones I saw, I particularly liked these pieces (among many wonderful ones):<br \/>\n<!--more--><\/p>\n<p><strong>David Salle &#8211; My Subjectivity (1981) <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.tate.org.uk\/modern\/exhibitions\/paintingsfromthe1980s\/img\/works\/salle_lg.jpg\" alt=\"David Salle - My Subjectivity 1981\" \/><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\nIt&#8217;s hard to tell from this picture, but the panel on the left is sculptural, it sticks out a couple inches and the black circles are holes to the canvas, allowing some interesting shadows to develop.  I&#8217;m not sure what it was I liked so much about this one but it struck me.\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>Francis Bacon &#8211; Seated Figure (1961)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.tate.org.uk\/collection\/T\/T00\/T00459_9.jpg\" alt=\"francis bacon seated figure 1961\" \/><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\nI love the anatomical distortion of this one.
