Louvre!

What a day I had at this place. It is freakin’ HUGE. I don’t have time to post all the images and video I took so here are some highlights:
First, a panorama I took of the entrance to the Louvre.
(warning: this links to a very large version of this – over a MB. It will take a little while to download)
See if you can spot the Tour Eiffel, and the glass pyramid that guards the entrance. And Waldo, he’s in there somewhere I think. That is not the Arch de Triomphe, by the way. That is somewhere else.
Here is Psyche Awoken by the Kiss of Love, as I mentioned in my previous post, my favorite thing in the Louvre. Here is my sketch of it:
Here is the angle from which the sketch was drawn – for comparison:
This lady has the disembodied hand of a baby on her back! Creepy…
This is an ancient god-dude. I forget his name but he is awesome.
That is all for now. I have many sketches which I will post soon.

Cupid and Psyche — Happy Valentine’s Day! Nice sketching!
I like the spiral curls of the god-dude’s beard.
Hey, I don’t see any of that stuff in the panorama. Except for the dude behind the tree with the blue hat and red and white striped shirt. I should have guessed he was French…
Ah, I just figured out how to make it really huge, and saw the Tour Eiffel in the distance. Wow, what a big picture. I feel like I’m standing there!

That ‘glass pyramid’ entranceway was designed on Computervision CDS 4000 CAD Workstation – one of the CV marketing demos was composed of the various ‘stage’ drawings, including the comceptualization. I saw that all the time when I was working at the World Headquarters building. Come to think of it, the lobby of that building was built along the same lines!
